Summer Worship Ministry
Starting Sunday July 5 and for the rest of the summer, we will be having an “open call” for volunteer singers to help lead the congregational songs. Anyone who is walking after God may come and join the rehearsal on Sunday morning from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. In addition to reviewing and practicing the songs, there will be a related Bible Study and a time of prayer. Come for one Sunday or come for them all. Men, women and serious minded children are invited. Indicate interest on the Communication Card on Sunday and then just show up!

Golf Tournament – July 30
The Annual Summit Grove Children's Ministries Golf Tournament is Thursday, July 30th, shotgun start scramble at 12:00. The Tournament will be held at the Heritage Hills Country Club in York, PA. The cost this year is $80 per person. This includes green fees, cart for 18 holes, dinner and awards program. Men and Women are welcome. More information is at the Guest Services Counter on Sunday or see Doug Wahler.

Baptism – July 26 and/or August 16
Have your recently given your life to Christ? Are you ready to bear witness to his life in you? Then sign up to be baptized on either, July 26 or August 16 (use the Communication Card). Pastor Mike will contact you in advance and answer any of your questions.

Membership Class
Are you ready to join the church and formally embrace our mission? Do you still have questions about who we are and where we are going? If you answered yes to either of these questions, then come to a membership class on Saturday, July 25 from 9:00 – Noon. Sign up on the Communication Card on Sunday.

Summer Fun! – July 17
All women are invited to a Game Night on Friday, July 17th, 7:30 p.m. until midnight!! Bring a snack to share and your favorite board or card game. We’ll meet at Colleen Carroll’s house, 10319 Folk Street, Silver Spring, 20902. Call Colleen (240-888-5853) or Carrol Mercurio (301-774-1656), or stop by the guest services counter on Sunday if you have questions, need directions or need a ride.

Ongoing Teaching Series
We have been exploring the history of the early church through the first 12 chapters in the Book of Acts. The title of the series, “The Once and Future Church” reminds us that there are valuable lessons to learn from this “First Church”, lessons that can help us demonstrate the power of the resurrection in our lives today. The two theme verses that we are meditating on are: Acts 1:8 and Matthew 16:18b, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth … I will build my church, and the gates of Hell will not overcome it.”
